- Gulf & Deep South: Florida peaks for blueberries (the earliest in North America, bred for low-chill winters), starts watermelon and cantaloupe, and harvests its April–May peach crop.

When do the first blueberries arrive?
April, in Florida — the earliest commercial blueberries in North America, from low-chill varieties developed for southern winters. Georgia follows, and the wave moves north through summer to Michigan and beyond.
